Checking Out Canada: Vancouver and Whistler

At the end of September, Patrick and I visited the third-most-livable city in the world: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. We had beautiful, sunny, slightly crisp fall weather during our stay, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time exploring Vancouver. A highlight of our trip was walking and biking around Stanley Park, which is the largest park in the city (10% larger than Central Park in NYC and 1,001 acres in size). Vancouver has more parks than any other city in the world and is also home to the world’s longest uninterrupted walkway (the seawall within Stanley Park). We were impressed with how clean the city was and how easy it was to navigate. We also ventured to Granville Island, a man-made, 36-acre peninsula accessible from downtown Vancouver. The island’s public market attracts over 10 million visitors each year.

Patrick and I also traveled to Whistler for a two-night stay during our trip. We had a wonderful time visiting this quaint, mountain town. Whistler gets its name from the whistling sound that the native marmots make. One…
